FAQ
Short answers about the AI Fear Index (AIFI). For the full rule set, see Methodology.
What is AIFI?
AIFI (AI Fear Index) is a lagging daily close of AI fear already in public coverage, published at aifear.ai on a 0–100 scale. The site footer states it plainly: not a forecast.
What do the bands mean?
calm 0–<20 · watchful 20–<40 · elevated 40–<60 · fearful 60–<80 · extreme 80–100.
Where is the machine-readable data?
Current close: /data/index.json. History: /data/history.json. Look for as_of, index, band, version (e.g. AIFI-3), and component status.
How should I cite AIFI?
Prefer “AIFI (AI Fear Index) — aifear.ai”, include the as_of date and close, and link https://aifear.ai/. Do not describe it as a crypto fear/greed index, trading signal, or prediction of future AI outcomes.
Is AIFI the same as other “AI fear” products?
No. Several unrelated projects reuse similar names. This product is only the one at aifear.ai. When in doubt, cite the URL.
Can I embed the index?
Yes: /embed.svg and /embed.png.
Does the homepage work without JavaScript?
The interactive gauge needs JavaScript. The JSON endpoints and this documentation remain readable without it.
